Ashdod Refinery

Ashdod Refinery is one of the largest, leading and most significant energy companies in Israel, providing fuels and related services to the fuel and electricity industry for the Israeli market.

After a long period during which the refinery in Haifa was the only one operating in Israel, in 1969, the Israeli government decided that, in view of the increase in population, there was a need to establish another refinery to serve the Israeli market. Indeed, a year later, the construction of the refinery in Ashdod began, which was put into operation for the first time in 1973, and was the second refinery of the young state of Israel.

Until 2006, the refinery in Ashdod operated as part of the Oil Refineries Ltd. (now the Bazan Group), it was then decided to split the refineries into two different companies, and it was purchased by the “Paz Oil Company Ltd.” In 2023, Ashdod Refinery was split from the Paz Company, and became a public company traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
